About

Founded in 2010, Hippocampus Magazine is an online publication set out to entertain, educate and engage writers and readers of creative nonfiction. HippoCamp: A Conference for Creative Nonfiction Writers, now in its second year, is an in-the-flesh extension of that three-fold mission.

This three-day Pennsylvania writing conference will feature notable speakers, engaging sessions in three tracks, interactive panels, author and attendee readings, social activities, networking opps, and optional, intimate pre-conference workshops and post-conference pitch session.

We can’t wait to tell you more about this year’s programming — and welcome you to Lancaster, Pa., a city rich in history, arts and culture.

Finally! A writers' conference that gave its attendees their money's worth and then some! Those of us fortunate enough to participate in the inaugural Hippocamp gained meaningful, useful knowledge of the craft of creative writing; terrific networking opportunities; interactions with the incredible Lee Gutkind, Jane Friedman and Donna Talarico-Beerman; friends for life; and so much fun that HippoCamp 2016 can't get here soon enough!
