yeager hippo Saturday-17Wow! HippoCamp 2016 was an incredible success. We grew a bit since our inaugural conference last year, but the small, family feel and positive vibe remained the same.

Here, we share some conference recaps – with more to come in the next few weeks as blog posts roll in, as videos are produced, and photos prepared!

Some Stats

  • 216 attendees – plus some community members and guests of attendees joined us for the opening reception and Mary Karr keynote
  • Writers from 28 states and four countries
  • 42 presenters participating in 18 breakout sessions, three workshops, pitch sessions, four panels, flash sessions

Attendee Posts

We love when attendees leave inspired enough to want to share their experiences with their audience and readers. Here are some blog posts ‘penned’ by attendees and speakers (Have one to share? Send us the link!):

Photos & Videos

HippoCamp was full of action, inspiration and emotion! Dave Pidgeon, our amazing conference photographer, capture SO many moments and will soon deliver his photos – if you’ve been following him on Twitter, he’s been giving us some teasers. We’ll share a selection of them, most likely on Flickr, as well as a smaller set on our Facebook page. Be on the look out.

John and Rae of Baldino Digital, our incredible media partner, also captured our speakers and attendees in action and asked people about their HippoCamp experience:
