Panel: How I Got Published — Debut Authors Share Their Stories
After a quick welcome and housekeeping announcements, you’ll hear from a few first-time authors who have relatively new works of creative nonfiction out on bookstore shelves, or have forthcoming titles.
Our moderator will ask questions about their writing process, and how they made the transition from unpublished to published. Bring your questions too, as the panel will end with Q&A with our audience.
Amye Archer: Fat Girl, Skinny (forthcoming from Big Table Publishing)
Jamie Brickhouse: Dangerous When Wet: A Memoir (St. Martin’s Press; April 2015)
Laurie Jean Cannady, Crave: Sojourn of a Hungry Soul
Ilana Garon, “Why Do Only White People Get Abducted by Aliens?”: Teaching Lessons from the Bronx (Skyhorse, 2015; paperback 2015)
Lynn Hall: Caged Eyes:An Air Force Academy Cadet’s Story of Rape, a Shaming Culture, and the Resilience that Freed Her (forthcoming from Beacon Press)
